LED flood lights have the potential to widely replace traditional metal halid lamps because of their ability to immediately turn on-off and particularly important, because of their dimming capability. Contrary to this metal halid lighting is much more energy-consuming and has to be equipped with additional mechanical shutters to extinguish lights for special effects. That’s a serious disadvantage of metal halid lamps within sport areas and other event premises, where the creation of dramatic light effects is essential.
