The annual LED event Stratgies in Light Europe 2015 has taken place in London (UK). In various workshops and sessions new trends and opportunities in the LED business have been discussed. 
 
The effects of LED ighting to human well-being, health and productivity particularly at working and commercial places has been of the key topics and have been in the focus of attention. 
   
-          Economic mid-power chips will be replaced by even more cost efficient chip-scale-packing (CSP) as soon as higher production quantities can be reached with this technology.
 
-          In global LED-business a consolidation within the chip- and packaging area is expected while in other business areas a uniform consolidation cannot be expected. LED lighting remains a business with strong differences in terms of specific applications and regional characteristics.
 
-          At this stage the global LED-business situation remains very competitive. Additional revenue will particularly achieved by companies which can offer individual lighting solutions in areas like smart lighting with massive potential of additional energy savings.
 
-          Lighting devices bear a great potential as data access points for the provision of more efficient energy management in buildings.
 
New opportunities with LED in architectural lighting projects emerged at this year’s event. LED lighting as means of communication and alternative to WIFI is on of the features which will certainly be discussed in the closer future.gm.
