As Osram has released, with a newly introduced “projector-reflector solution” it is possible to provide uniform lighting and minimum reflection in swimming pool halls. In such applications a projector emits a lumen package that is split via a deflection reflector back into the space to be illuminated without glare. As the company furthermore points out, the application is very maintenance friendly, because the reflectors can be installed at easily accessible locations which is of particular interest in swimming pool halls with high ceilings.

 

In fact the illumination of swimming pools is particularly challenging, because of several reasons: strongly reflection water surface which causes glare, splash-water reaching the lamps and high humidity of the air for which all the new projector-reflector application can offer solutions through the concept of indirect lighting.

 

 

Osram’s “floodlight 20” is used as a LED projector and protected against splash-water and humidity through IP66 water proof rating, including chlorine resistance. Such features, accompanied with corrosion-proof material result in a long life-span of the lamps with an excellent maintenance factor in damp locations as in swimming halls.

 

All lamps can be operated with DALI and enable an adjustment to convenient and individual light setting under different circumstances, may it be during leisure times or in sports competitions. As Osram finally pointed out, the reflectors can be installed at lower parts of the walls instead of high ceilings which adds to a comfortable and cost-efficient maintenance over a long period of time.sm.
