Luminus’ new “horticulture white” LED Portfolio18-10-2018
As Luminus has released on its website, the company has expanded its horticulture LED portfolio with the new “SST-20” series white LEDs to complement the extensive range of discrete wavelengths from UVA (368nm) to far red (730nm). According to Luminus, the incorporation of white light in horticulture fixtures provides illumination in the greenhouse and makes it easier to observe crops for signs of disease.

As Luminus further pointed out in many cases white LEDs can replace blue LEDs as they provide similar photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) and therefore potentially reduce production costs. With a CCT range from 2700 to 6500 Kelvin, customers are enabled to flexibly choose the light which is most suitable to their needs.

As the horticulture and farming research community discover productivity and crop quality gains through wavelength and spectrum engineering, Luminus continues to expand its offering by adding new wavelengths to its current portfolio so that growers and farmers can maximize production yields, become more sustainable and reduce costs.

As Luminus finally pointed out, the need for improved crop yields and more sustainable food supplies is more important than ever and with the new horticulture LED, the market’s needs can be directly addressed due to its based on its efficacy and highest performance values. sm
